Cambodia

During the 1970s, the Khmer Rouge was responsible for the deaths of ~ two million people. Doctors, teachers, or simply anyone who wore glasses were killed en masse. The Cambodian Genocide resulted in the shutdown of all schools which has caused a lasting impact on current educational attainment.

Since April 2024, the Tap Initiative has been raising funds through donation platforms and campus fundraisers. Caring for the students’s education in Cambodia starts with providing sufficient healthcare for their students. In October 2024, the Tap Team donated $3,300 to CCDO to continue to train medical professionals, provide physical checkups, and supply toiletries to the 26 schools and 11,000 students they work with.

With school starting up in November, the Tap Team donated an additional $700 the fall of 2024 to provide students with uniforms and study material.
